The no B.S. info you need

I’ll get right to it: my practice isn’t in network with any insurance plans. Instead of billing your insurance directly and collecting your copay, I provide the information and assistance you need to maximize available insurance benefits while being able to work with a therapist who really gets your teen. There are a lot of reasons to be an OON provider, most of which you probably don’t care about. Here’s what you need to know: clients who work with me pay up front for the cost of therapy and get reimbursed through their insurance company using OON benefits. If you don’t have OON benefits, you’re responsible for all of the costs.

I’ve been to the grocery store recently, so I know that paying for therapy out of pocket is no small ask. But here’s the deal—the type of deep, impactful, life-changing work that goes beyond surface level, symptom management that I do with teens isn’t cheap. Insurance offers poor reimbursement rates, gets in the middle of your kid’s treatment, mandates session limits, and compromises privacy. I won’t participate in a system that sees your kid as grist for the mill instead of caring about their wellbeing.

I believe that all teens deserve access to quality, specialized care. While my solo private practice can’t solve large scale, systemic problems in the insurance landscape, accessibility is a core value of my practice. For this reason, I use a universal, sliding scale policy with a choose your own rate feature. Translation: you have options to choose a fee that works for you and your budget.

Equitable Rates

Everyone’s budget is different and income is only part of the story. Your income, expenses, savings, and ability to pay are none of my business. You know your family’s resources better than I do. I ask that you take your ability to pay into consideration and choose one of the rates below to pay for therapy. No questions, no hassle, no income verifications. The rate is yours so long as your teen is in treatment*.

  • Tier 1: $135 per session (minimum fee)

  • Tier 2: $150 per session

  • Tier 3: $175 per session

  • Tier 4: $200 per session (full fee)

Tiered rates are available for clients who attend weekly or bi-weekly sessions. All clients who attend monthly or as-needed are charged the tier 4 rate.

*Rates increase each year to reflect additional expertise and training and increases in operating expenses.
